#BoundlessWA is still accepting applications for two years of outdoor leadership training for 10 exceptional young people with disabilities — a terrific opportunity!
Established through a partnership between the Office of the Lt. Governor and the Washington State Leadership Board, the Washington World Fellows global leadership program combines study abroad, college readiness, and leadership training to cultivate a sense of personal empowerment and global consciousness in young Washingtonians.
During the summer of 2021, so long as it is safe to travel, the Washington World Fellows will take part in a six-week study-abroad experience in Spain, where students will earn five college credits studying Spanish at the University of Léon and live with local families. For the following two years, the fellows will participate in college preparation and leadership programming that includes SAT/ACT tutoring, college application assistance, and unique legislative and international leadership opportunities.
The entire fellowship, including airfare, is administered at no cost to students and their families.
To be eligible for the program, students must be in the 10th grade, have basic Spanish language competency, and be nominated by their teachers, counselors, or mentors by Dec. 7, 2020. Up to 15 students will ultimately be selected for the program.
As a member of the @wastateleaders, I’m proud to support this life-enhancing program!
