Fraser named AWC City Legislative Champion

The Association of Washington Cities (AWC) has named Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Thurston County, as a City Legislative Champion for 2016. Fraser has worked tirelessly on behalf of cities throughout her entire career.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award,” Fraser said. “Our cities and local governments are essential to the success of our communities and I have always had them in mind when considering legislation.”

The AWC’s City Legislative Champion award was created in 2014 and recognizes legislators who have gone out of their way to advocate for one or more key city priorities issues. Retiring Sen. Linda Evans Parlette of Wenatchee was also recognized.

Fraser honors Korean War veterans

Each year, the Korean-American community, veterans, elected officials, and the public come together to honor the veterans who fought in the Korean War. Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Thurston County, participated in this year’s events on June 25, and spoke of the dedication and bravery of our soldiers.
