Sen. Annette Cleveland, D-Vancouver, received a Bronze Crayon Award from the Children’s Alliance at a Clark County Early Learning meeting in partnership with Southwest Early Learning, and Support for Early Learning & Families. Cleveland was honored for her commitment to protecting and growing early learning programs.

“I am humbled and honored to receive a bronze crayon award,” said Cleveland. “I feel strongly that making investments in early learning is one of the best use of state resources because it helps lay the groundwork for kids to be successful. Emphasizing the importance of creating and expanding high quality early learning opportunities for our youngest learners is just one way we can help improve student outcomes. When we ensure that all kids in our state are ready and prepared for kindergarten and beyond, we create stronger, healthier communities.”

The Children’s Alliance Bronze Crayon Awards are given to rising early learning leaders in Washington state and recognize achievements made within the last two years.
